Inverclyde Recovery Stories

Kevin

SINGER & MUSICIAN | INVERCLYDE RECOVERY JAM

Kevin joined the Inverclyde Recovery Jam at Your Voice in 2015 and has only missed one session since; and describes his feelings the night before the meetings as 'anticipation and excitement' as he looks forward to being creative and able to express himself through music and songwriting.

Kevin began using substances at the age of eleven and after struggling with varying addictions throughout his life has been (with the exception of a brief period of drinking) drug free since 2008. The Recovery Jam and other groups at Your Voice mean a great deal to him in terms of keeping his mind away from negative thinking.

Turn Of The Clyde

by KEVIN HOLLERAN

A cartwheel, a skip and a rhyme,
A moment of time,
Your innocence mine

Endless summers, the weather so kind
The evening sunshine
The night sky sublime

Autumn streets, deep red gold and brown,
Diminish the sound,
Always calm me down

Winter gardens, in neat little rows,
Hedges full of snow,
And over we go

A simple flourish, a dash here and there,
She paints as she sings,
The angel of spring

Helter skelter, the truth set in stone,
Unsolved and unknown
God's kingdom alone.
