The Macmillan Info and Connect Project is a new initiative within Inverclyde which will see health information points and pop ups set up across the local area, stocked with Macmillan Cancer Support key resources and other health information linked to life limiting conditions.

Information will be provided to individuals within an informal setting, where they can also access emotional support and, be signposted and connected to other local services including physical activity, money advice, social activities and diet and nutrition support.

Your Voice and Macmillan volunteers will help support the distribution and development of these sites, including supporting individuals find the information most relevant to them at that point in time and, where appropriate, supported to access a range of local services, activities and programmes.

The Macmillan Info and Connect Project is available to anyone who lives and works within Inverclyde. It specifically seeks to support individuals affected by cancer, and other health conditions, find the right information and service when they need it most, and access emotional and practical support in an environment which is seen as less formal and more supportive to that individual.

Info & Connect Volunteers ...Interested?

With 2.5 million people in the UK now living with cancer, Your Voice and Macmillan Cancer Support are working together to ensure that there is support available, in a friendly and convenient setting for those who need it and no one has to face cancer alone.

We are looking for volunteers to help establish Macmillan Info & Connect Hubs across Inverclyde, offering health information, a listening ear and practical support to local people affected by cancer.

As a volunteer you will:

  • Make a difference to individuals within Inverclyde affected by cancer
  • Receive the necessary training for your role and have access to ongoing development
  • Meet likeminded volunteers and staff
  • Have the opportunity to shape a new local project which will truly benefit the people of Inverclyde

No specific experience or knowledge required, it’s your time that matters!
