Survey Outcomes

Here are some past surveys which you helped us use to create change within the community. Your opinions are valuable and your feedback really does make a difference!

Green Connections - Phase 1

Background
Your Voice was asked by Sustrans (Sustainable Transport Scotland), Atkins and the Inverclyde Council to gather public opinion on potential Walking, Wheeling and Cycling paths between The Lady Octavia Sports Centre and The Greenock Town Centre.

The Your Voice team ran many public engagement events at local community hubs, schools, and the Oak Mall in Greenock, to gather feedback from a variety of demographics about their experiences, challenges and ideas with pedestrian travel throughout the area.

Report
The survey was a resounding success with over 250 survey responses and some brilliant points raised!

A report was created with this feedback and sent directly to the planning departments of Sustrans, Atkins and Inverclyde Council. We had many meetings with these departments to raise issues which we were coming across in our public engagements.

Outcome
A key issue raised by the public was the opening of the James Watt Marina, which has been open to public access in the past but had since been closed off. This survey helped influence the opening of this section for pedestrians and cyclists. Ultimately Route 2, along the costal path was found to be the best route and has been greenlit for development.
