Creative Recovery Inverclyde
Introducing “Creative Recovery Inverclyde”, an arts strand nestled within the heart of Your Voice’s Lived Experience Network. It is a dynamic collaboration between members of the network and participatory and community artists working across Scotland with a range of art forms and approaches.
Creative Recovery Inverclyde strives to create a nurturing space where creativity becomes a catalyst for expression, connection and experimentation. Always asking what art and creative practice can do in the community it’s found, the people within it and the broader area of Greenock and Inverclyde.
Building upon the foundation laid by Your Voice's Lived Experience Network, Creative Recovery Inverclyde draws inspiration from past collaborations with local partners such as The Beacon Arts Centre, Rig Arts, Inverclyde Libraries, The Watt Museum, and freelance artists like Indra Wilson and Elina Bry. The work extends across various art forms, including film, sculpture, moving image, sound, writing, theatre, and performance.
We have been fortunate to receive support from Creative Scotland's Participatory Arts and Mental Health fund in partnership with the Baring and Mental Health Foundation. This backing allows us to explore the intersection of art and mental well-being, contributing to a broader dialogue on the transformative role of creative practices in healing and recovery.
Looking ahead, Creative Recovery Inverclyde is open to new avenues and collaborations. We extend an invitation to both existing and potential partners and creative organizations, and will shortly be inviting proposals to work with us in upcoming year.
